Part 2 Project

Statistician

I find this profession interesting because surveys and statistics are always intriguing to look at and study and I would like to have a deeper involvement with them. It is very math and science based which are my strengths and I enjoy them.  Statisticians design surveys or experiments or opinion polls to collect data, analyze and interpret data, and report conclusions from analyses. I would like to work for the federal government as a mathematical statistician. These workers develop advanced statistical models for several purposes, such as filling in gaps from nonresponses to surveys. This .profession currently has a booming job market, making employment to be fairly easy to find with a master's degree. This would be especially helpful in these tough economic times.  A recent salary survey found that the middle fifty percent of masters’ statisticians have annualized salaries between $95,000 and $155,000, which is a very impressive amount.
